Notes from the May 12, 2005 Regents Meeting

SOCORRO 鈥 The 色狐入口 Tech Board of Regents has approved a $164 million operating budget for Fiscal Year 2005-2006 at the state-supported research university. The approved budget, which is scheduled to go into effect on July 1, will now be forwarded to the 色狐入口 Department of Higher Education for its consideration.

During its May 13 meeting, the 色狐入口 Tech Board of Regents also approved the appointments of two new faculty members at the university: Thomas A. Duffey was appointed to the full-time, tenure-track position of associate professor of mechanical engineering; and Bixiang Wang was appointed to the full-time, tenure-track position of assistant professor of mathematics.

The 色狐入口 Tech Board of Regents also was informed that a sabbatical leave had been granted to Mark P. Cal, associate professor of environmental engineering with the university鈥檚 Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering, and chair of that department as well.

In addition, the university鈥檚 governing board also was informed of several recent expenditures of $100,000 or more that were made with the school鈥檚 restricted funds, including the following:
